Location
The village of Govedartsi is situated in central-west Bulgaria, approximately 80km south of Sofia, 26km to the west of Borovets and 12 km southwest of Samokov town.
The village lies at the foot of the Rila National Park which is one of the biggest reserves in the Balkans and Europe. It includes the highest areas of the Rila Mountains and is an attractive place for tourists throughout the whole year as it provides bicycling, horse rides, walks in summer and skiing in the winter. The Cherni Iskar river flows through the centre of the village. Govedartsi benefits from having numerous facilities which include ski rentals, restaurants, hotels and shops.
